Teachers in Classrooms Drinking Coffee
About "Mission 76"
Leah Jerome, the 2020 Bergen County Teacher of the Year, is on a mission called #Mission76 to get into every school district in the county. The goal is to shine the spotlight on the great work being done around the county in our classrooms! Special thanks to the sponsorship of Dunkin' Donuts and their support of education!
Why Coffee?
As a history teacher I have learned that some of the world’s greatest revolutions have been born out of conversations started in coffeehouses. The English coffeehouses and French salons were the birthplace of Enlightenment thinking. Intellectual thought and discourse brews over a cup of coffee. Unlike other adult beverages that distort the thought process, coffee sharpens it and cultivates dialogue when shared between two people. In that spirit, Teachers in Classrooms Drinking Coffee was born. Just maybe, we might come up with some revolutionary ideas about teaching!
